The Sound of Everyday Life
Since I was a kid, my life has always been surrounded by music. No one in my family is a musician, but music is important for all of us. My mother used to be a ballet dancer, so of course she worked in a very musical environment. My dad, a very successful architect, was also interested in music since he specialized in theatre repairing.
My days have always started with some music: my mom used to turn on the radio for me when I was a child and, many years later, that’s still the first thing I do when I wake up. Listening to nice music gives me the energy to live my life to the fullest every single day.
Like my parents, I listen to music when I work. I am a graphic designer so, unlike my mom, and more like my dad, I don’t really need music to do my work. Nevertheless, it has become somehow necessary for me when it comes to create an inspiring atmosphere, whether I need let myself go with a flow of thoughts or concentrate hard to finish a more technical task.
I also listen to music when I want to chill out. After a day of exhausting and rewarding work at the studio, I go home on the subway enjoying my favorite tunes or whatever is on the radio. Honestly, sometimes I don’t really mind what I listen to, as long as it has rhythm and melody.
