My first pet arrived home when I was six years old and there have always been little animals in my room ever since. She was a cute kitty called Nancy. I named her after my mom’s sister, which she found quite amusing. It had black fluffy hair when she first got home, but as she grew up she turned brown and yellow.
My second pet was a hamster called Tim. He didn’t live long but I enjoyed his presence a lot. He was tiny and white. My mom couldn’t stand the very sight of him, since she found him very similar to a rat. He was really cute and loving. He used to ride his training wheel like crazy!
My third pet was an iguana. Her name is Cynthia, although I never knew if she was a boy or a girl. She is still alive and loves to just rest in her cage and eating little insects. I wet her everyday with fresh water as sunlight dehydrates her.
After Cynthia, came Paul, the most gorgeous turtle you’ll ever see. Paul is a river turtle, so he lives in an aquarium. Although turtles are related to tortoises, Paul swims at a great speed. He is anything but a slow guy. He is brown on the top and has a light yellow “belly”. My Uncle Sam got him for me as a birthday gift from a very expensive pet shop. It’s really the best gift I have ever received.
